Website research

I looked at the official websites of different bands that are similar to the arctic monkeys and looked for different trends that were shared between them. For example all of the websites had tour dates on the front page, they also usually had photos of the band.

Another thing that most of the websites shared in common were links to other forms of social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Myspace.

Kasabian

This website is a very plain design with not much going on, it has some simple pictures and a very nice 

red on white theme. The song name man of simple pleasures sums up this website quite nicely and may even be why it looks the way it does (to promote the song). i think this website differers from the other websites which is good and i may use some of this simplistic style in my website.

Oasis

This webpage is pretty much the exact opposite of the Kasabian website, it is a very busy page with lots of tour dates and links. Also it uses very dark colours as the backgrounds which contrasts nicely to the white and light blue text that is used. This style is very typical of bands of this genre and this website 

is pretty much the bog standard. i will likely use many of the conventions shown in this website such as 

tour dates and social media links.

Cage the elephant

This website is a mixture of both of the previous styles, it has quite a simplistic feel with the white background and the red text, however it also has quite a lot of text and links. I like the addition of the soundcloud link as a way of showing their song because it works like a social media for music. some of the features that i will likely use from this website include the simplistic feel and also the ability to listen to their songs on their website.

Kaiser chiefs

Some of the feature of this website that follow the conventions of a website are things like links to social medias (such as facebook or twitter ) or advertisements for their most recent album, these are all things that appear in most band websites. This website also follows the style of the Kasabian and Cage the elephant websites by using a light background with red/blue text to create a simple and indie feel.

The style of clothing that i would like my performers to be wearing is a casual style of clothing consisting of jeans, t-shirts and jackets/jumpers, this gives the band a very relatable look and makes you feel like the band are just like you. The reason i chose this style is because it is the most commonly used outfit among most bands of the same genre.
